Gruesome Addiction to Beauty Injection

Her name is Han Mi Ok, a Korean celebrity who became known as ‘Fan Lady’ after her disastrous cosmetic surgery. She underwent 15 reconstructive surgery to overhaul her ‘I-don’t-think- it-can-be- fix’ plastic surgery damage. She apparently became obsessed addicted to plastic surgery and couldn’t get enough of the ‘faux-fect face’ ( I made the word up) so she went to quacks just to indulge herself. She even personally performed a facial injection at home.. The result! well you can see it.

 1

She used to look like this before the cosmetic surgery disaster:

On the photos above, Han Mi Ok was at the shooting of of 500th episode of Shocking Stories of the World.

untitled3

I admire her courage to display her damaged face in public and let people see how ungodly it is to distort ones appearance. I am not totally against plastic surgery but I am also not for it. She should serve as a lesson to anyone who dreamed of having a ‘faux-fect face’. Think twice before you get cut up and think thrice before you inject yourself with human byproducts

The 15 Worst Celebrity Plastic Surgery Disasters You Will Ever See by http://www.topsocialite.com

Bad plastic surgery happens when someone feels pressure to look good and they have more money than brains. Which pretty much describes the majority of celebrities out there.

Some of the following don’t quite look like human beings anymore, which would be tragic (this is voluntary! they didn’t have to look like this) if it weren’t so stupid. Most of these people were genetically blessed to begin with, which makes you wonder why they would risk their good looks just to hold off from aging a tiny bit longer. And many of the younger celebs on this list have absolutely no excuse at all, as good diet, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle would have fixed most of any flaws they felt they had.

Here are the fifteen worst celebrity plastic surgery disasters we could dig up, some of which are pretty damn horrifying:

15: Tara Reid
Surgery botched: Boob Job and Stomach Lipo
Photographic Evidence:

Tara Reid’s stomach looks to be about forty years older than the rest of her.

14: Gary Busey
Surgery botched: Veneers
Photographic Evidence:

As the Awful Plastic Surgery site puts it, his teeth look like chiclets.

13: Lil Kim
Surgery botched: Boobs, face work, skin lightened
Photographic Evidence:

Before:

After:

Lil Kim is headed down a path forged by Michael Jackson. Can’t wait to see what she looks like in twenty years.

12: Janet Jackson
Surgery botched: Breast Implants
Photographic Evidence:

Never good when you have a giant dent in your boob. Janet needs to head to an autobody shop pronto, get that dent pounded right out.

11: Jessica Simpson
Surgery botched: Lips
Photographic Evidence:

Luckily for Jessica not all bad plastic surgery is permanent. She talked about her lip enhancement, saying “I had that Restylane stuff … It looked fake to me. I didn’t like that. But… it went away in, like, four months. My lips are back to what they were. Thank God!”

10: Kenny Rogers
Surgery botched: Facelift
Photographic Evidence:

Rogers is someone else who’s not thrilled about his surgery, telling People:

Last year I had so many lines coming in at the side of my eyes up here. So I went in and got my eyes done, and I’m not happy about it. (The surgeon) is going to go in and fix that for me. They’re too tight around the eyelids for me. It drives me crazy.

9: Tori Spelling
Surgery botched: Breast Implants
Photographic Evidence:

Not too often you see a “legit” (using that word a little loosely) actress get breast implants that look like giant beach balls, but Spelling was willing to buck the trend. The money probably could have been a little better spent elsewhere. I hear French doctors have made some real advancements with facial transplants.

8: Hilary Duff
Surgery botched: Veneers
Photographic Evidence:

Neeeeeeeeigh *snort*

7: Victoria Beckham
Surgery botched: Breast Implants
Photographic Evidence:

Fittingly, it looks as if she’s had a couple of soccer balls implanted into her chest.

6: Donatella Versace
Surgery botched: Lips, facelift
Photographic Evidence:

And now we are starting to get to the people who are losing all traces of humanity. Versace isn’t content to grow old in a graceful manner, instead making a mockery of herself.

5: Vivica Fox
Surgery botched: Breast Implants
Photographic Evidence:

Gotta agree with Perez Hilton on this one, that is pretty disgusting. Fox apparently shares a surgeon with Janet Jackson.

4: Melanie Griffith
Surgery botched: Face lift and god only knows what else
Photographic Evidence:

This definitely deserves a before shot, just in case you are forgetting how normal Melanie Griffith used to be:

She’s only fifty years old, and she’s pretty much ruined her face. If I didn’t know it was her I would have honestly pegged the person in the first picture as a woman in her sixties.

3: Pete Burns
Surgery botched: Lips
Photographic Evidence:

If you’re wondering who Pete Burns is, don’t feel bad, he’s a fairly obscure singer (he’s the You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) guy), but his plastic surgery sins are definitely egregious enough to be included this highly on the list. Now granted part of what you’re seeing there is intentional (this is a guy who has accused Boy George of ripping off his image), but those lips are absolutely frightening. Burns agreed and actually filmed a special in the UK called Pete Burns’ Cosmetic Surgery Nightmares.

2: Jocelyn Wildenstein
Surgery botched: Everything she has attempted has apparently turned out terribly
Photographic Evidence:

Before:

After:

This woman has spent $4 million on plastic surgery. I would want my money back.

Jocelyn is a wealthy socialite whose husband began cheating on her. To win him back she began undergoing plastic surgery to transform into a giant cat. Her husband likes big cats. Naturally.

Didn’t work however, and her husband said “She seems to think that you fix a face the same way you fix a house”.

1: Michael Jackson
Surgery botched: Skin lightening, nose jobs, face lifts, etc. etc. etc.
Photographic Evidence:

Could it really have been anyone else? It’s incredible to forget how absolutely normal Michael Jackson looked back in the 70’s and 80’s (attractive even!) before turning into the sideshow freak that he is today. The guy is absolutely looney tunes so it’s kind of a shame that he was always able to find a doctor to do what he wanted. Everyone should have told him no after a certain point, which was probably in about 1985.

Congratulations to the winners. Flexibility in its extent.

Mariana Bridi died this morning

In connection to my earlier post here.

1/24/09 – Brazilian model and beauty queen lost battle against deadly bacteria

Vitória, BRAZIL – Mariana Bridi Costa, the Brazilian model and former Miss World Brazil finalist who had her hands and feet amputated and had been fighting to live for weeks, passed away at 3 AM, Saturday, January 24. Her struggle touched millions of people around the globe.

a major loss

a major loss

Mariana represented Brazil in two international pageants: Face of the Universe 2006 (she placed 4th) and Miss Bikini International 2007 (6th place and ‘Best in Swimsuit’ award winner).

She dreamed of becoming a famous international model and a journalist.

God bless her.

Miss Universe 2009 live in Dubai

Just crossing my fingers and if any case this is true…….you know who books his ticket first 😉 Spicey Galsss….calibrate your engines, this is one hell of an event.

Mean Mina- inform the school of gays about this. Can’t wait for it.

Miss Universe 2009, the 58th Miss Universe beauty pageant will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, possibly on Summer, 2009. An official announcement is expected anytime by the Miss Universe Organization. Miss Universe 2008, Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela, will crown her successor at the end of this event. About 80 countries and territories are expected to compete and the pageant will broadcast live on NBC and Telemundo.

A Taste of the Universe

A Taste of the Universe

Last July, investor Jonathan Westbrook tried to get Australia to host Miss Universe 2009 but his efforts were in vain as the possible venues were not interested. Donald Trump had intentions on holding the 2009 pageant in Dubai, though chances are very high, it remains questionable due to the political instability regarding relations between the United Arab Emirates and Israel.

A Beauty Queen’s Nightmare

I’m just touched by this and can’t help to be so emotional when I was going through it. We are still lucky to be alive and complete. Love life….live it to the fullest.

Vitória, BRAZIL — In 2006, when Mariana Bridi Costa was only 18, Mariana Bridi competed for the first time in the Miss World Brazil pageant. With little money and a basic wardrobe, she traveled for over 24 hours on a bus to get from the small town of Marechal Deodoro to Curitiba, where the pageant was held.

Her natural beauty and energy, took her further than most people gave her credit for: Mariana was the 3rd runner-up, living several favorites behind.

A couple of months later, she was sent to Accra, Ghana, where she competed for the new Face of the Universe title. She was the 3rd runner-up overall and first among the contestants from the Americas.

It didn’t take long for this young beauty to be noticed, and soon came an invitation from the state director of Sergipe, Alexandre Araujo: she would return to Miss World Brazil, that time with full sponsorship and proper preparation.

The Real Beauty with A Purpose

The Real Beauty with A Purpose

The “new” Mariana didn’t disappoint her fans: she was again a finalist at Miss World Brazil and won the Miss World Northeast 2007 title. Invited to compete in Miss Bikini International, in Shanghai, Bridi won the “Best in Swimsuit” award, and finished the competition in 6th place, competing with more than 50 girls from around the world.

Recently Mariana received a proposal to work as a model in a big agency in São Paulo. When she was about to move to Brazil’s largest city, a tragic turn of events took place: on January 2 Mariana was taken to a hospital with an urinary tract infection, which soon became a generalized infection.

Under intensive treatment and unconscious, doctors believed Mariana wouldn’t survive the next 24 hours. She did survive, but the strong medicines she had to take, stopped blood running through the extremities of her body.

The solution was the amputation of both her feet and hands.

Still at risk of dying, Mariana is conscious and made it clear that, even under such critical conditions, she wants to live.

People from around the globe have been praying for this young warrior, who in many senses has been a model for many. Her case has astonished a nation, and brought to people’s attention the possible consequences of such infections.

Mariana is now recovering from yesterday’s hands amputation surgery. She is in desperate need of type O negative blood. Local and national newspapers and websites have been asking people to donate blood.

April Ross Perez

Today, I am featuring one of the country’s remarkable beauty. A friend……An idol!

She is April Ross Lim Perez. I actually knew her from a common friend. I have to admit that I was her avid fan. Not because of her beauty….because of how she performed when she represented Zamboanga during Miss Philippines-Earth 2002.  She was raised and born in Zamboanga, a proud chavacana.  She luckily finished as a semi-finalist in the 2002 Miss Earth Beauty pageant where Džejla Glavović won the crown from Bosnia and Herzegovina who unfortunately got dethroned and stripped out from her crown. Eventually, April got stationed in Manila for some time.

I have been following her since she joined the Miss Philippines Beauty Pageant in 2002 until she represented the country in Miss Earth back in 2002. I remember, me and Mich were communicating from Cebu to Zambo and crossing our fingers hoping she would win. It was evident that out of every other contestants….she hailed and bested to be the best. Even a hard to beat Justine Gabionza wasn’t able to shake the true and deserving winner of the night.

She appeared in commercials like San Miguel Beer, Rejoice, SMART, Ayala Mall, Lucky Me, Ricky Reyes, Avon and Champion Cigarettes. She also became one of FHM’s cover model. No doubt…she is also a sexy fox!

She is now residing in San Francisco California and remains to be an extinct beauty from inside and out.

HERE ARE SOME OF APRIL’S MEMORABLE SNAPS

Stay beautiful april.

Lots of love here.

A Miss World 2008 Primer

I just think she is the one……
Hey peeps. I have cancelled all my meetings today. Hopefully, 1 will get through this afternoon at Wafi City. It is raining cats and dogs outside. And literally, Valerie is getting berserk about the thunder. I can’t help it. I have to stay home and watch out for her. I am just reminded by my pre-alarm handheld organizer to post my views regarding the most awaited coronation night of Miss World 2008. Well, the pageant cannot go on without my presence and my views of course. So here is my draft.

If my dreams do come true…then she is the one. It has been quite some time since the Miss World Beauty Pageant kicked off  a couple of weeks back. I have been an avid follower of the pageant and yearly, it has become a tradition for me to handpick my choices. Year by year I am becoming a good critic and I am nearly hitting my targets. (that’s just my opinion)

Miss Russia World 2008, Ksenia Sukhinova

Miss Russia World 2008, Ksenia Sukhinova

This year’s quantity: Damn, how can I filter my choices from 109 to 1? That is a pretty tough choice. Well, Ksenia Sukhinova, this year’s representative from Russia made my conclusion easier. Eversince the pageant started, my eyes were directed to this 21 year old lass who has become the current top spot holder in all the betting odd sites. You can never overlook such kind of beauty and last week, she has proven that she deserves a spot to the finals after winning this years Top Model, advancing to this year’s finals which will take place on December 13, 2008. Well, Miss World has always been a surprise and unlike the Miss Universe pageant, it has never laid its winners before the pageant concludes. Barely unpredictable. In my opinion, that is how it is supposed to be.

Keep a note, Blondes and Brunettes are always “IN” when it comes to Miss World Beauty Pageant.

Miss World has  its own different procedure. In short, it is not as per the norms that most of us follow. Different continents will have their own queen and who bested everyone will finish a lovely triumph. Here are my other picks for this year. All of them captured my attention.

Queen of Europe: Miss Russia, Ksenia Sukhinova
Queen of Americas: Miss Mexico, Anagabriela Espinoza
Queen of Carribean: Miss Trinidad and Tobago, Gabrielle Walcott
Queen of Asia Pacific: Miss Philippines, Danielle Castaño
Queen of Africa: Miss South Africa, Tansey Coetzee

2nd runner up will be Miss Mexico, Anagabriela Espinoza
1st runner up will be Miss Philippines, Danielle Castaño
Miss World 2008 will be Miss Russia, Ksenia Sukhinova

(alternates: EUROPE: Spain, AMERICAS: Venezuela, CARRIBEAN: Puerto Rico, ASIA PACIFIC: India, AFRICA: Angola)

She is a doll. Oxana Federova, dethroned Miss Universe in 2002, the last Russian representative to impress me. I find this year’s Miss Russia Universe beautiful as well. Vera Krazova, a different beauty in her own rendition. Ksenia has a different case also. She’s got a different beauty with a different approach. If Ksenia takes home the crown this year, she will be the second Miss World from Russia. The first one was Julia Kourochkina, in 1992.

Dethroned Miss Universe 2002, Oxana Federova

Dethroned Miss Universe, Oxana Federova

I still have high hopes for Danielle Castaño. She is also “a tough contender” to beat. I have been following her performances and she’s also one on top for this year’s Miss World Hot picks. She is my darkhorse this year and I am confident that she will also get a spot in the finals. Great body, great poise….hopefully intelligent enough to withstand everyone.

With only 9 days left. I am very sure that all eyes are now focused on who’s going to be hailed as this year’s Most Beautiful Woman in the World. Unfortunately, I am completely tied up with tons of things, otherwise, I would have booked a ticket and see the pageant myself. I would be delightful to see the african beauty of the south.

How about you? Do you have your picks too? Share it with us. I am very sure that in some point we all share the same thoughts. December 13, 2008, Sandton Convention Center Pavillion in Jo’burg, South Africa. It’s the place….it’s a date.

Stay Beautiful and bitchly,

Indonesia (posted August 25, 2008 )

On Monday I went to the amazing temple Bodo Budur which is the 7th wonder of the world and the biggest temple ever!!! It was incredible to be in a place with so much history and so much culture. After that I went to the Yamaha event where I took pictures (foto, foto, foto, foto) with all the people there and I saw the new motorcycle only for women, very nice and comfortable. I flew back to Yakarta on Tuesday, I went shopping at Musika Ratu and it was very, very fun!!! After having my time with beauty products I did a photo shoot for Cosmopolitan Indonesia and then I went shopping again!!! At the Plaza Indonesia Mall, a very nice and beautiful mall where all the people from all over the world go to shop, what a great day!!!! Wednesday we went to Palenbang where I got to see more of the Indonesian culture, how they make the fabrics, and the different kinds of batiks, which are the typical shirts from Indonesia. While I was having dinner at the river just in front of the big bridge of Palenbang I enjoyed a fashion show with all the traditional clothes, and music, with dance and very good food. Back in Yakarta, I went to Indosat, an Indonesian cell phone network, and learned a little bit about how a cellular network works nationally and internationally too, taking care of costumers happiness and comfort. Then I had a girls meeting with the Minister for Women Empowerment Ibu Meutia Hatta where we had a very nice talk about how important is to show to women all over the world how to keep united and help each other to be educated and protect each other from human trafficking and domestic violence, it was truly and honor for me to share that time with such a successful woman. I learned from her how they are working to fight against violence. Being Miss Universe gives me the chance to talk about this and help empower women all over the world.

Going to Indonesia (posted August 15, 2008 )

I was excited the whole weekend thinking about going to Indonesia and that it was going to be my first trip as Miss Universe, so I prepared everything Monday and Tuesday to have a wonderful time in Indonesia. I arrived in Indonesia on Wednesday, and the first thing I did was a fitting. I tried many Indonesian dresses which I was going to wear during my week here. I am so happy to have the opportunity to meet the people in Indonesia, their food, their culture, and I am very honored I could wear their typical costumes for the most important events. After my fitting I had a wonderful massage in a beautiful spa as a very nice welcome where every body was so warm and kind. On Friday I had a press conference where I could thank every one that have made this trip come true, Ibu Mooryati, Mustika Ratu for making me look so pretty every day, especially Ibu Rossi who did my hair every morning, and Miss Indonesia (Putri Indonesia) for making me feel like home, giving me such a warm welcome. I got to meet the contestants for Putri Indonesia (Miss Indonesia) before the pageant and they were all very beautiful, then I got to see them on stage and they looked even more pretty, they are all winners, they all did an amazing job. I look forward to seeing the new Miss Indonesia at Miss Universe pageant next year so we can share our life experiences.

Busy Schedule (posted August 11, 2008 )

This week I had a wonderful time with the guys (and gals) at the Gay’s Men’s Health Crisis building, where I served food during lunch time and dinner on Friday, they are so much fun!!!!!! I loved being there, they are always smiling, every time so happy, they all are so nice to me that I feel like if a knew them already from some where else, I look forward to going again :)!!! I had some interviews for many Latin countries and Asian countries this week. I’m taking English classes. I did shopping in Roberto Cavalli’s store and I have A LOT of fun! I had the great chance to go to the movie premiere “Holly” with Joanna Coles, Editor-in-Chief of Marie Claire and Petra Nemcova. It was about the reality of children trafficking and how hard it is to control such a situation around the world, this movie was produced by Guy Jacobson and Adi Ezroni, who risked their life and overcame death threats to produce one of the best researched narrative films on child sex tourism, with the intention of raising global awareness, to highlight efforts of the international community and to encourage foreign governments to take effective actions to counter all forms of trafficking in persons. It was very hard and impressive to watch the reality of some children that unfortunately weren’t so lucky, and ended living this scary and horrible experience…and once we all get to realize it, we all can to something about it, and help our children without caring about their nationality or religion…

Being Miss Universe! (posted August 5, 2008 )

Since I won, I haven’t truly realized what is happening, everything had been going so fast, the day after I won I did my first photo shoot as Miss Universe and I still couldn’t believe it! I have moved to NY (my new home for a year) and my first weekend here I started to enjoy being Miss Universe getting my nails done and hair thanks to Farouk. From Monday, July 21st to Monday the 28th I was dedicated to doing a big tour for the media, going to amazing TV shows, radio stations, and having in between phone calls interviews as well. I also had the opportunity to be in the red carpet supporting the Latin Film Festival and met Daddy Yankee for the premiere of his new movie. I started learning about my charitable alliances for the year and HIV/AIDS with the Latino Commission on AIDS (LCOA) and the Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC). I will to get to talk to people all over the world about the awareness of HIV and AIDS, which it was really interesting to know how many countries have this issue, and how difficult its for some people to talk about this or even take the HIV test. I just have a couple of weeks as Miss Universe and I’m already having a lot of fun! I’m sharing the apartment with Miss Teen USA Hilary Cruz who is a very nice girl, and funny too, she makes me laugh hahaha, and Miss USA Crystle Stewart who arrived last Sunday!!! We got to share our moments from the Miss Universe pageant and how wonderful it was to have this life opportunity :). I’m so happy I get to share all this experiences with them, now we are a new family, living in NY City, our new home….Thanks to all of you that made it possible for me to live these wonderful days I’m living now.

MISS UNIVERSE 2008 COVERAGE

written an published by: lee bengwic (www.bengwic.com)

I have to admit that this has got “tons” of grammatical errors.

I was in a haste preparing it coz I have to catch the first church mass early tomorrow. I have to finish it in less than 1 hour. For all those “walking dictionary” viewers out there..just calm down. Ten mistakes won’t lead us having “less brain activity”.  hihihi… por favor…. this is just an opinion ok? so relax. grab a pop corn and go through it. No violent reactions after. (*winks*)

The bee has spoken. Let us start by comparing how many did I get right as per my prediction list.

MY PREDICTION LIST

Colombia

Mexico

Venezuela

USA

India

Puerto Rico

Australia

Vietnam

Thailand

Korea

Panama

Kosovo

South Africa

Japan

Belgium

* red marks are the unfortunate outguessed ones.

It’s 9 out of 15. Not bad compared to my 7 out of 15 last year. Year by year it keeps on improving. I expect that next year, I will be able to reach a 2 digit score.

So Dayana won. As I have said in my prediction blog: Once Miss Venezuela, always Miss Venezuela. It was a well-deserved win. Dayana nailed the final question when she was asked whether which have it easier, men or women:  “Actually, God made men and women different. But the big difference between women and men–it doesn’t matter what kind of life they live–is that men think that the faster way to go to a point is to go straight. Women, no. The faster way to go to a point is to go through curves and fixing every curve,”Miss Venezuela answered international judge Louis Lacari.

The best one so far. I have to give her an “A” for that.

Taliana, my old time bet since the pageant started, had a great answer as well. The bell was a curse when it reached its  “ding dong”. The judges got disturbed and pulled her scores down during the final interview. “Startstruck by Jennifer Hawkins? maybe not!”

In comparison to Dayana’s answer….ahhhhh!!!!! hmmmmmm..that’s a no brainer.

Dayana’s answer was straight to the point. She was not so fluent in English, but she made a very remarkable response.

Tali’s was a mediocre. Dayana edged her and finished a well deserved end held in Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam last Monday.

The second, third and fourth runners-up were Miss Dominican Republic, Miss Russia and Miss Mexico, respectively.

Let’s do it one by one and I’ll share you my inside thoughts about this year’s pageant.

The stage was gigantic and class. It was massive. Colorful. They had an energetic set of dance performers also.

The opening number was hideous. The Opening number song was very common..”EVERYBODY’S GONNA LOVE TODAY”..Give me a break . That was lousy and I cannot even call it a production number. Nothing great about it so far. The individual national costumes were eye catching. It was very long and I started to get bored staring at it.

Melanie B. was oozing hot. Well, I always liked her ever since she started in Spice Girls while Jerry Springer was too old to host a pageant. Come on..this is not Ms. Grandma Universe! He is corny and tried to be funny but it didn’t work out so far. He made a grand entrance riding something like a “scooter”…that was…………ooow…never mind. I prefer to keep my mood in its normal status, but it really sucks!

So, the top fifteen were announced in random order. Let’s see.

VENEZUELA

KOSOVO

MEXICO

VIETNAM

SOUTH AFRICA

AUSTRALIA

JAPAN

DOMICAN REPUBLIC

ITALY

COLOMBIA

RUSSIA

HUNGARY

CZECH REPUBLIC

USA

SPAIN

Did I hear it right? Hungary? I hope the judges weren’t “hungry” when they selected her to be in the spot. I hope they had a better explanation. The rest deserves to be in their individual spots. Even if I heard so much that many were surprised about Italy and Russia’s inclusion in the list…I favored the preliminary judges in selecting them, they have the guts and they can both pull the trigger.

So where is Simran and Ingrid. This is not a mock up dress rehearsal show right? Then I was convinced that they weren’t really in the final 15. What went wrong? Whatever it is, I guess it would be reasonable. Blame it to the prelim judges. Esha must be so pissed about Miss India’s exclusion on the finalist. Hihihihi….. A great strategy can accompany a great jinx.

Ingrid???? Somebody must have pepper sprayed her gown once again. This time, it was successful. It worked out and she failed to secure a spot in the final 15. Just an opinion.

So I was going through my list. I was shocked. How could I forget Miss Dominican Republic in my list? How can I afford to overlook such beauty? My God…she is a bomb. Almost……perfect. She even looks better than Amelia Vega in some angles.

The swimsuit competition started. So who was that singer? She was scary. I thought it was CHER. It was a “0” performance for me. My niece can even dance better than her. And what’s with the blonde hair? Sorry if I am so mean, but does she want to replace Miss Albania?

Grrrrrrr….Blonde and not so beautiful.

The one who has got  the best Swimsuits for me were Tali of course, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico and Dominican Republic. Miss Spain looked like a villain in a “telenovela”. I didn’t like her because of that. She tried to look sultry…ended up looking cocky.

Top 10 were announced.

Kosovo

Australia

Spain

Mexico

Colombia

USA

Dominican Republic

Russia

Italy

Venezuela

Comment: Miss South Africa deserves to be in the top ten in replacement of Miss Italy.

Miss Thailand won the Best in National Costume Award. So what happened to Miss Philippines?

Miss El Salvador bagged the Miss Congeniality award. It’s better than having nothing at all. Ooopsss..Sorry.

The evening gown competition started. Ok. So, everybody was calm and feeling elegant that moment. I was not informed that Crystle’s ambition was to drop her feet down and fall on her ass. Drop off the rumors about her intentionally doing it…come one..that is absurd! who would waste her time preparing for a once in a lifetime event and just screws it with a bouncing plot like this. Hell no. In fairness to her, she almost dropped her jaw when she just realized (What the f*ck was that?) She tried to hide it, but that 15 minute fame is a “make or break” situation…in that case..she failed to recover from that fall.

That fall has totally changed her future. She could have easily crowned herself and would have the rarest chance of answering any of the final questions. Poor girl. I love her from the start. She reminds me of Wendy Fitzwilliam. It was not her fault though. Blame it to the beads down her gown. The panel of judges gave her a dropping 8.050 mark in the evening gown competition which lead to his exclusion to the Final Five. Russia could have been ousted and she’ll definitely get the spot.

Here are my views regarding their evening gowns.

·         Kosovo – SO….PROM LIKE

·         Australia – VERY COMMON

·         Spain – VERY MERMAID

·         Mexico – OOOLALALA…BEAUTIFUL

·         Colombia – SO COMPLICATED BUT CLASSY

·         USA – NEED TO EXPLAIN?

·         Dominican Republic – VERY NATIONAL COSTUME

·         Russia – VERY OXANA FEDEROVA

·         Italy – NO COMMENT

·         Venezuela- SHE SHINED IN YELLOW

We are almost there. So, top the five finalists were announced. Miss USA crosses her finger till it bleeds. (I hope I’ll be in…I hope I’ll be in…) Let us see.

Miss Colombia

Miss Venezuela

Miss Dominican Republic

Miss Mexico

Miss Russia

USA must have been so disappointed.

Final questions were rolled out.

Miss Colombia was star struck by Jennifer Hawkins. She stammered. She delivered it well but she got caught by the bell when it rang while she was still conversing.

Venezuela’s answer was perfect. She nailed it. That is why she deserves to receieve the 18K white and yellow gold crown, which was valued at $120,000.

Dominican Republic’s answer was so “Miss Universe”. It was not from the heart. Somewhat like her.  She answered it from the nose.

Miss Mexico tried to answer in English but failed to impress the judges..including me.

Miss Russia: I was surprised. She gave a very good answer. It made me convinced that she should be in the top five.

MORAL LESSON: Don’t say Cin Xiao if you are planning to give a very long answer. CIN XIAO girls. If only there is a “part 2”.

SCOOP: Roberto Cavalli? What’s with the flirty question? But I loved it. The way he uttered the word “satisfyyyyyyy”. OMG. So gay! (*winks*) but it was cool.

Dayana won of course. No doubt. Nobody even questioned it.

Prior to that Riyo Mori had her final walk on her own version of  the “tux”. I was reading some blog, questioning what she wore. Come on…she looks fabulous. Admit it! Sometimes, we need to see and accept the reality that there are people who look good in what they wear. She looked so class…not a trying hard mannequin as every other reigning queen looks like. So all sourgrapers out there…..chill out!

Everybody was happy with the result. Including me. Dayana looks “everything” that I can imagine from A to Z.

She was a fox in yellow.

She had the “x,y and z” factor.

She is Miss Venezuela redefined. I am so glad that Osmel’s touch is back. The Powerhouse of Beauty is sooooo “on” once again. Who will be next? I hope they will not send another Jictzad Vina.

Cheers. See you all in Miss Universe 2009, where we share different thoughts but with a common aim.
